How are Piloti driving shoes different from regular athletic shoes?

Piloti driving shoes aren’t running shoes. They are specifically designed to improve comfort and performance while driving. But they’re also great for walking around, and have a sleek look that gives them serious street appeal. Piloti shoes are manufactured with exclusive, patented Roll Control™ heel technology, which enables easier heel-and-toe downshifting, protects the foot when racing, and mimics the natural shape of the heel while walking. Our new Superstrada and Pistone styles feature a slimmer profile and subtly curved heel.

Piloti produces three distinct racing and racing-inspired footwear lines, each of which offers its own benefits:

Piloti Performance driving shoes are designed for true race professionals. FIA certified and SFI rated - constructed with fire-resistant Dupont Nomex lining. Our spherical heel protects from heat and vibration, and provides extra cushioning behind the heel bone for heel-and-toe downshifting. Our next generation racing shoes satisfy what drivers have been asking for - a sleek, light-weight sole and slimmer profile. The Piloti performance line has been worn by some of racing's most legendary names, including Ron Fellows, who credits Piloti driving shoes for extending his career by helping to avoid the foot pain that traditionally comes with repeated braking.

Piloti Casual driving shoes are perfect for driving and general wear. This street-friendly line offers similar technology as our Performance shoe, just without the Nomex. They feature patented Piloti technology, modern styling, versatility, and cushioned, all-day comfort.

Piloti Luxury driving shoes are as comfortable as they are stylish. Impeccably crafted in Italy, each style features premium Italian leathers and suedes, a refinded sole design, and elevated styling and craftsmanship that performs equally well in the car and at the office.

How do I care for my Piloti driving shoes?

To protect your driving shoes from dirt and moisture, spray them with a good boot protector (available at any shoe store). For suede, we recommend using a suede block and brush to keep the leather looking fresh. Full-grain leather benefits from regular application of a good leather conditioner with a soft cloth.

Are Pilotis sized differently than other shoes?

All styles of Piloti footwear come in men’s sizes 7-13. An expanded size range (size 6, 6.5 and 14) is available on select Prototipo and Spyder S1 styles. Our driving shoes fit your feet like most athletic footwear brands, and are manufactured in “D” width, which fit most foot types from “B” to “EE.” We encourage you to visit one of our retail partners to try on a pair to get the perfect fit.

Our Prototipo and Spyder S1 styles are designed with a sleek, narrow toe-box. We recommend ordering a half size larger than your standard sizing to ensure a comfortable fit.

Our Italian footwear tends to fit a half size larger. If your foot is narrow to average width, we recommend ordering a half size smaller. Those with wider feet should find the fit true to standard sizing.

For optimal pedal feel and performance, our driving shoes are made narrower to ensure a snug fit. We recommend ordering a half size larger than your standard athletic shoe size; for a wider foot, order one size larger.

Do you have women's sizes?

At the moment, we only make men’s sizes – but our driving shoes are favourites with enthusiasts of both genders. All you have to do to figure out the women’s size is to shift down by 1.5 sizes (for example, a women’s 9 would be a men’s 7.5).

I’ve been having trouble finding Piloti driving shoes lately – has the company stopped making them?

Since launching in 1999, Piloti driving shoes have been sold all over the world, with the popularity of the brand growing every year. In 2014 we injected new life into the beloved brand, and launched a new collection including a luxury shoe line made in Italy, and clothing and accessories - premium quality hats, shirts, bags and more.

Do I have to be a racer or a car enthusiast to wear Piloti?

Absolutely not! Race car drivers around the world love our high-performance driving shoes because they’re great for racing, but also because they’re comfortable, stylish, and carefully constructed. Piloti shoes make a statement, whether you’re kicking up track dust – or just kickin’ it with friends.
